The Qutb Minar is five storeys high. The first floor was constructed by Qutubuddin Aibak and the rest by lltutmish around 1229. Over the years it was damaged by lightning and earthquakes and repaired by Alauddin Khalji, Muhammad Tughluq, Firoz Shah Tughluq, and Ibrahim Lodi.
