Who were the Liberals? Describe briefly.

Liberals wanted a democratic regime. They wanted rule of the reason rather than monarchy. They wanted to do away with privileges based of birth. They aimed for voting rights and civic participation. They also discouraged superstitions and unproductive traditions. Thus, they were called liberals.
