Whose area is greater - a square of side 3cm or a rectangle of length 4cm and breadth 3cm?

Step 1:To calculate area of square

Area of square=(side)2

Area of square=32=9cm2.

Step 2:To calculate area of rectangle

Area of rectangle=length×breadth

Area of rectangle=4×3=12cm2

Hence, rectangle having area 12cm2 is greater than square having area 9cm2.
