Why a blunt nail refuses to penetrate the wood although the hammer applies maximum force?

Dear Student ,
we know that pressure depands upon force and area both if area is less then same force
will apply large pressure then with bigger surface area as blunt nail has large area then a sharp
nail that is why there is less pressure and it refuses to penetrate
