Question

Why a camel can run in a desert easily?

Open in App
Solution

  1. The force acting per unit area is called pressure.
  2. As we know that Pressure=ForceArea.
  3. Pressure is inversely proportional to area.
  4. The larger the area, less will be the pressure.
  5. Camel can run on sand easily because they have wide feet which help them to balance their weight on loose sand and wider feet gives a larger surface area which exerts less pressure on the sand which enable them to run smoothly on it.

Hence, the wider feet of the camel give a larger surface area which is responsible for producing less pressure on the sand as a result camel can run on desert(sand).
