Solids have a definite shape, fixed volumes, and distinct boundaries.

Example of Solids :

Stones, wood, metals like iron, copper, nickel

Properties of a wooden table:

  1. It is hard and rigid.
  2. Its shape can not be changed by applying temperature and pressure so it has a fixed shape.
  3. It is hard so we can not compress it.
  4. It is quite heavy which means high density.
  5. There is no movement of constituent particles present.
  6. A wooden table can not flow.

A wooden table shows the property of a solid so a wooden table is called a solid.
