Air is considered a mixture because of the different reasons:
A mixture is a substance made up of two or more substances that are mostly immiscible with each other.
Air can be separated into its constituents like nitrogen, oxygen, etc, by the physical process of fractional distillation. That's why Air is considered a mixture.
Whereas, Compound is something that consists of two or more things or substances combined together chemically in a definite ratio.
