Question

Why altemating current is used in place of direct current in measuring the electrolytic conductance?

Solution

When DC current is used, it cause the polarization of electrodes and electrolyte which leads to error in measurement.
In AC there is no polarization due to non- continuous flow.
Therefore, AC is used in measuring the electrolytic conductance.
