Question

Why ammonia is the most toxic form of nitrogenous wastes?

Open in App
Solution

Dear student,

Out of all the nitrogenous wastes, ammonia is the most toxic form of nitrogenous wastes, even at lower concentrations , because it raises the pH of the body fluids. It requires large amount of energy(in the form of ATP) to form. Also, it requires large amount of water to get flushed out from the body.

Regards.
