Question

Why are alkali metals highly reactive

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student,

Alkali metals are highly reactive because they just have to give up a single electron to attain a noble gas configuration or stable electronic configuration. In other words, their ionization energy are very low and hence they can react with other compounds like water easily.
