Open in App
Solution

Chromosomes contain genes which carry hereditary characteristics of a particular person i.e shortness, tallness, brown eye colour etc. Therefore, chromosomes are called hereditary vehicles. Chromosomes are called hereditary vehicles because they are inherited to the offspring from their parents and to their offspring from them.
