why are comets consider bad luck?

Considering comet as bad luck is a superstition. It is a debris of ice releasing dust and gas. Solar radiation heats and exerts pressure on the comets which leads to the formation of tail, as the gas starts moving away from comet resembling tail. Kuiper belt comets are short period comets found beyond neptune and oort cloud comets are long period comets extending midway to nearest star.
