Scattering of light is the phenomenon of change in the direction of light on striking particles like water droplets, dust particles, etc.

Step 2: The danger signal lights

  1. Among the colors of visible light, the red color has the largest wavelength. Hence, is the least scattered.
  2. The red light can easily pass through fog, mist, or smoke without getting scattered. It can be seen from a very long distance.
  3. That is why the red color is used as a universal danger signal.
