Open in App
Solution

Dear Student,
Electrovalency and covalency both represent the combining capacity of any element , These terms are just used to denote the type of bond formed between the elements, How they have combined either by mutual sharing( covalency- number of electrons involved in covalent bond formation) or loss or gain of electrons.(electrovalency - number of electrons lost by cation or number of electrons gained by anion)
This represent the combining capacity of elements thats why Both terms are called as valency.
