Golgi bodies process proteins formed in the endoplasmic reticulum, sort and package them into vesicles and transport them to different destinations like plasma membrane, secretory vesicles, lysosomes etc. Cells of stomach secretes a large amount of proteins like the mucus which forms a protective lining for the epithelial cells of the stomach and digestive enzyme like pepsin. Therefore, a large number of Golgi bodies are found in the stomach cells.
