Question

Why are ideal machines not achievable in practice?

Open in App
Solution

  1. The machine which gives output as input is an ideal machine.
  2. In an ideal machine, all the input energy is converted to output energy.
  3. Conversion of energy is 100% in an ideal machine.
  4. For 100% energy conversion, all parts of a machine will have to be frictionless, which cannot be possible.
  5. Hence, an ideal machine is not practically feasible.

Thus, ideal machines are not achievable in practice.
