Solution
Instructions:
Definition of igneous rocks
Formation of igneous rocks
Solution:
Igneous rock is formed by the cooling and solidification of molten Earth materials.
For example we have basalt and granite.
Igneous rocks are formed directly from the molten lava, so it does not depend on any other rock for its formation.
And also, the igneous rock acts as a source rock for the other two either directly or indirectly.
Because of this very reason the igneous rocks are also called primary rocks or parent rocks.
