The rightmost group of the periodic table contains six elements (helium, neon, argon, krypton, xenon, and radon); all of them are gases. They are called inert gases as they are not reactive.
Inert gases are described below:
Helium - It is used to fill weather balloons.
Neon - It is used in fluorescent lights that are used in signboards.
Argon - It is used for welding stainless steel, and for filling electric bulbs.
Radon - Radiations from radon are used to treat cancer.
