Solution

Dear Student

There are large variety of plants, animals, and microbes on earth and they differ in size, shape, colour, habitat, and many other characteristics. So, studying each of them is impossible. Therefore, scientists have classified all living organisms that allow easy identification, nomenclature, and finally classification of an organism.

It plays an important role in research and development as one can easily correlate one particular taxa with other and can carry out further research on those taxons.
