why are many political parties opposed to the uniform civil code ?? All it says is a common law instead for all the people .

The Uniform Civil Code is opposed by many political parties like the Indian National Congress and The Communist Party of India (Marxist) because for them it is a Hindu Nationalist conspiracy meant to suppress the minority Muslims.It is not uniform in true sense and not feasible for a diverse country like India where religious issue is sensitive.
