Why are MCBs used in place of ceramic fuses nowadays?

MCB is more preferable to an electrical fuse because the fuse wire melts in an electrical fuse and the fuse gets destroyed when excess current flows through it. But in MCB, it is immediately turned off when excess current flows through it and the supply can be restored simply by switching the MCB on again. Hence, we don't need to replace the MCBs like electrical fuses and that is why they are more preferable.
