Why are metals considered as non-biodegradable substances?

Open in App
Solution

Dear student,

Biodegradable substances are organic compounds and they get biodegraded due to the ability of the microorganisms to degrade the organic compounds.
Metal is inorganic and are strong enough to not easily disintegrate in the soil.

Thus, it is non biodegradable.
