why are minerals essential for photosynthesis

What is required for photosynthesis which is absorbed from the soil along with the minerals.
Nitrate is required to make amino acid and protein.
It there is deficiency of magnesium in the plant, the plant growth stops and the plant turns yellow.
Hence, minerals are important for photosynthesis.
