Question

Why are muscular and skeletal systems grouped together as musculoskeletal systems?

Open in App
Solution

Musculoskeletal systems:

  1. The interaction of the skeletal system & muscular systems carries out general body movements.
  2. As a result, they are normally grouped together as a musculoskeletal system. Such muscles are associated by tendons to bones, & the bones are connected to one another by the ligaments. When the bones are attached to each other, it is usually referred to as a joint.
  3. The muscles can also lead to the movement of a joint which is associated with 2 different bones, and its contraction pulls them together.
  4. For instance, relaxation of the triceps and contraction of the biceps produces a bend at the elbow.
