Why are petals colorful?

Open in App
Solution

The transfer of pollen grains from the anther of one flower to the stigma of a pistil of the same or another flower is termed as pollination. Majority of plants (70%) use animals for pollination. Bees, butterflies, beetles, wasps, ants, moths, birds and bats are common pollinating agents. The colorful petals of flowers attract insects for pollination.
