Why are RBCs called corpuscles and WBCs are called White Blood cells?

Open in App
Solution

The word corpuscle is a medical term for a living cell, such as a red blood cell.
WBCs can also be called corpuscles. But as red blood cells have haemoglobin they are red and WBC dont have haemoglobin so to differentiate between WBc and red blood cells WBc are called white blood cells
