Why are ships and boats are made of streamlined?

The bodies are made streamlined to reduce friction and let the bodies move in an easy way.
The bodies of boats, ships, etc. are made streamlined to allow the streamlined flow of fluids ( i.e. each particle of air passes through the same point with the same speed and in the same direction) which helps in reducing the effect of drag ( i.e. the force of friction exerted by fluids) and helps in gaining more speed. In simple words, it helps in reducing friction and helps the vehicles to move with faster speeds.
