Question

Why are some medicines more effective in the colloidal form?

Open in App
Solution

Most of the medicines are colloidal in nature.

For example, argyrol is a silver sol used as an eye lotion.

Colloidal medicines are more effective because they have large surface area and are therefore easily assimilated (as the surface area is directly proportional to the rate of assimilation in our body).
