Asia is the world's largest continent. Asia has all types of landforms from high mountains, plateau, plain, island etc. At the same time, the climate of Asia is very diverse some parts are ice caped throughout the year and some parts are hot dry deserts. For all this natural diversities the population is unevenly distributed in Asia. Some parts of Asia is thinly populated and some parts are overpopulated. Apart from physiography availability of mineral resources and industries also play important role in population distribution.
The valleys of the Euphrates and Tigris, Pakistan, India, the island of Java in Indonesia, the Hwang-Ho and Yangtze-King valley of China, Japan are very thickly populated. On the other hand hill regions of North India, the hilly region of China, Turkey, Syria, Lebanon are thinly populated and the region extending from the deserts of West Asia passing through the Central Asian mountains up to the Tundra region has population density less than 5 person or less in per square km.
