Question

Why are temperate forests found between the altitude of 1500 and 3000 metres mostly in the southern slopes pf himalayas

Solution

Temperate forests are found at an altitude of 1500 to 3000 metres mostly in the southern slopes of the Himalayas because the climate in this region is suitable for the growth of temperate forests. It is sufficiently cold at this altitude to allow temperate trees to grow and survive. But it is not too cold so as to remain snow covered throughout the year. Otherwise, temperate forests could not have grown here.
