Why are the conductors of electric heating devices, such as toasters and electric irons, made of an alloy rather than a pure metal?

Solution

The metal melt more easily than alloy, alloy has high melting point and so it does not corrode easily. The resistivity of an alloy is generally higher than that of pure metals of which it is made of. This is the reason why heating devices are made of an alloy.
