Why are the following metals not used in the lab preparation of hydrogen:
(a) Calcium?

Due to its high reactivity calcium has a very uncontrollable reaction with dilute H2SO4 or dilute HCl. Hence, it cannot be used for the laboratory preparation of hydrogen.
