Solution
Endocrine glands:
Endocrine glands are the glands that produce hormones and are carried from the site of origin to the target organ through blood.
Pituitary, thyroid, parathyroid, thymus, adrenal glands, and pancreas are some examples of endocrine glands.
Ovaries and testes are also considered endocrine glands because they secrete hormones.
Testes secrete the hormone called testosterone that helps in the growth and development of the male reproductive organ. It is also responsible for the development of secondary sexual characters in males.
Ovaries secrete the hormones called estrogen and progesterone. They help in the growth and development of the female reproductive organs and the secondary sexual characters in females. They are also responsible for the menstrual cycle in females.
Therefore, due to the production of hormones, ovaries and testes are considered endocrine glands.
