Open in App
Solution

  1. In thermal power plants, coal or oil is burnt to boil water and produce steam which is used to run the heavy generators.
  2. Since a large amount of coal and oil is required in the thermal power plant its transportation from long distances becomes very expensive.
  3. So to minimize the cost and maximize the output thermal power plants are located near coal and oil fields.
