Why are veins blue in color

The blood present in veins is red actually but they look blue because
1) Light falls and penetrate into the skin

2)The blood containing a complex of haemoglobin and oxygen absorbs higher energy blue light only.

3) Blue light having higher energy is absorbed leaving behind other colors.

4)Therefore blue color is reflected back.
