Question

Why are veins blue in color

Solution

The blood present in veins is red actually but they look blue because
1) Light falls and penetrate into the skin

2)The blood containing a complex of haemoglobin and oxygen absorbs higher energy blue light only.

3) Blue light having higher energy is absorbed leaving behind other colors.

4)Therefore blue color is reflected back.
