Question

Why are ventilators provided at a height in a room?

Open in App
Solution

The reasons are:

  1. When the air absorbs heat it becomes lighter in weight and moves upwards. Similarly, the smoke and hot fumes move upwards because of the higher temperature they possess compared to the cold air.
  2. For these gases and hot air to escape from the room and avoid their collection on the roof, the ventilators are placed at a height in the room.

Hence, the ventilators are provided at a height in a room.
