because

It doesn't have the power of cell
division. It's cells do not divide.

It provides support, storage etc to the
plant.

Cell organelles are well developed for
parenchyma.

The metabolic rate of this tissue is slow.

Nucleus of each cell of this tissue is less
conspicuous.
  • Intercellular spaces are present.
  • Cells of this tissue possess crystals and other inclusions.
  • Large central vacuole occurs in its cells.
