Dear Student,

Land under various tree crops and groves: Land under various trees and groves include all cultivable soils not part of the seeded, but is used for certain agricultural purposes. Lands that are not included in the grove of this type under casuari trees, stalk grass, bamboo, bushes, other fuel groves, etc.
Land in the 1950,000–71 class has fallen drastically from 19.8 million ha in 1950–51, in 1960–61 to just 4.46 million ha, and in 1970–71 to 4.29 million hectares. The percentage of the land therefore decreased from 6.97% in 1950-51, to just 1.49% in 1960-61, followed by 1.41% in 1970-71.
The area in various tree crops and groves thereafter showed different tendencies and in 1999-2000 was 3,62 million hectares, or 1,2% of the total reported area. Orissa has the most 7.74 lakhs hectares (5.47 lakhs hectares), Karnataka (3-05 lakhs hectares), Andhra Pradesh (2,43 lakhs hectares), Assam (2,36 lakhs hectares) and Tamil Nadu, in this category (2.43 lakhs hectares).
