Solution
A solution is a homogeneous mixture of substances. The solution consists of a solvent and solute. The solute is the substance that is dissolved in the solvent.
The amount of solute that can be dissolved in the solvent is called its solubility. They cannot be separated by mere mechanical filtration. However, milk and blood are heterogeneous solutions.
They contain particles suspended in them. These particles are not completely soluble. So they are considered colloidal suspensions.
They are also known as emulsions. Emulsions are a fine dispersion of minute droplets of one liquid in another in which it is not soluble or miscible.
