Bone is considered the hardest tissue of the body because of the following points -

  1. Bones are made of strong and non-flexible tissue.
  2. Bones have calcification of their matrix.
  3. The outer framework of bone is made of proteins called collagen.
  4. The mineral matter present in bones is primarily composed of calcium and phosphorus and compounds such phosphates and carbonates of calcium and magnesium.
  5. All together, these materials make bone the hardest tissue.
