Why can iron pieces not be compressed?

Open in App
Solution

  1. Iron is a solid material which has the property of definite shape and definite volume.
  2. The intermolecular space in solids is very least or the molecules are closely packed which makes them rigid and cannot be easily compressed.
Hence iron cannot be easily compressed.
