Why can't sound can't travel in vacuum

Sound waves are mechanical waves. Mechanical waves needs medium to propogate. The disturbance created in the medium, transmitted from one particle to another particle in the medium.

Where as in the vacuum, no particles to transmit the disturbance from one point to another. therefore,
sound can't travel in the vacuum..
