Why can we hear the sound produced by the humming bees while the sound of vibrations of a pendulum is not heard?

Explanation :

  1. The human ear can detect sounds in the range of 20Hz-20KHz. These are called Audible Sounds.
  2. Frequencies below 20Hz and greater than 20KHz cannot be heard by the human ear. These are called Inaudible Sounds.
  3. Humming bees produce the sound by vibrating their wings and the frequency of the sound they produce will be in the range of 20Hz to 20000 Hz which is audible
  4. On the other hand, the pendulum produces sound less than 20 Hz which is below the audible range, and we don’t hear the sound of pendulum vibrations.

Hence, we can not hear the sound of the vibration of a pendulum.
