Question

A chemical change cannot be normally reversed. Why?

Open in App
Solution

In a chemical change some bonds are broken and some bonds are formed. The products are quite different from the reactants.

Any element or atom undergo reaction to achieve stability and after reaction product

become more stable than reactant so

the reaction will not reverse.

In chemical change new products are formed which have different chemical composition hence it cannot be reversed back. For example - Paper burns to form ash and ash has different chemical composition and it cannot be reversed back to paper.
