Open in App
Solution

  1. Transverse wave propagates in such a way that the particles of the medium travel perpendicular to the direction of propagation of waves.
  2. It produces crest and trough on the medium in which it propagates.
  3. Due to the formation of crest and trough in the medium these waves tend to change their shape.
  4. As gas has no elasticity of shape transverse waves cannot be produced in air.
