Pinhole camera always forms inverted images. The reason we don't see the image of the sun inverted is that the image is very small and it is highly symmetrical (the sun itself is spherical and symmetric). The image of the sun is inverted, but due to symmetry in the shape of the sun, the image appears to be same as that of the original and not inverted.
