Why chloroplast is called kitchen of the cell?

Chloroplast:

  1. Chloroplasts are green-colored plastids present in plant cells that are responsible for photosynthesis. They contain a photosynthetic pigment known as chlorophyll.
  2. They absorb sunlight and use water, and carbon dioxide to produce sugars.
  3. Since they are involved in photosynthesis by preparing food for the plant they are known as the kitchen of the cells.
