Why CNG is better than diesel?

↵CNG is considered as better fuel than Diesel. This is because of some advantages of CNG.
The advantages of CNG over Diesel are as below.

1. CNG is obtained from natural gas, oil well, coal mines, plants or by waste water treatment (some sources are renewable source) where as commercially available Diesel is derived presently from fossil fuel.
2. Safety issue: CNG is lighter than air, so on leakage it disperse in air easily which prevents accidents.
3. Maintenance cost of CNG powered cars is lesser than Diesel powered cars.
4. CNG is less polluting than petroleum oil (Diesel).
