Question

Why conductors allow electric current to pass through them and insulators don't?

Open in App
Solution

Conductors have free electrons, which start moving when connected to a battery. Hence they conduct electricity.

Insulators, on the other hand, don't have free electrons and hence can't conduct electricity.
