Why copper Sulphate solution in water does not show Tyndall effect but mixture of water and milk shows?

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student,

Copper sulphate solution does not show tyndal effect as copper sulphate solution in water is homogenous solution. Tyndall effect is the phenomenon of scattering of light by the particles of colloid or suspension because of which the path of light is illuminated. The tiny particles scatter the beam of light and make its path visible.

Milk is a colloid. hence, a mixture of milk and water will show tyndall effect.
